14 Months Down/Transfers!

I also almost killed myself on this hole. I wasn't a hole until I ran over it with my bike... then my bike ran over me. It was totally camouflaged because the grass was still level, it just looked really wet. But yeah, that's like 18 inches deep, and I was doing a wheelie over the wet grass and, well.... when I came down, my front tire found the only spot that was a hole covered up by grass, and I ate it SO HARD. My left arm was dead for like 2 days.

Hey everybody!

So yeah, I'm getting transferred. Even though I love this area, and now that it's starting to warm up so there are more people out and about, I'm kind of looking forward to some change. Although I hope I don't go very far, because I really want to come back and baptize Sister Edie. It's kind of funny, I teach these awesome people,
and within weeks of me getting transferred, they get baptized. Okay, that happened once, but this will make it number two :) We're going to hit up the Forman Mills today (The ghetto TJ Max) so I can stock up on Detroit gear before I leave the most hood place in the country. Something that is funny though is that Elder Tuia (who is in the other Elder area in the branch) is getting transferred to my area, and is going to replace me! So a good chunk of the people we are working with will already have seen him and known him a bit. The Sisters are staying together for a third transfer. They didn't seem too happy about that :)

Conference was pretty much amazing. I was able to focus better for this conference than any other one, and I was totally spiritually fed. I thought it was awesome how so many of the speakers testified that they are witnesses of Christ. Al and Sister Edie respectively, came to one of the sessions of conference. They both thought it was awesome, and they both came away with some great things.

Something pretty exciting is going to happen on May 20thElder Holland is going to come and speak to all the missionaries in Michigan (all two missions:P)!!! I'm thinking we're either getting iPads at that time, or there's going to be some freaky purging of the missions. Or he might just be here to teach us stuff. One of the three :)

Anyways, I'll let you all know next Monday where I'm going to be stationed next!

Hey everybody!

So yeah, I've been out on my mission for 14 months. So crazy. It's crazy to think that I only have 10 months left.

This week went well. Sister Edie is still smoke free, and is right on track to get baptized on the 12th!  We had 5
investigators at church, so that was really cool! One guy (Who was a former investigator) just randomly showed up and knew who the Elders were that are supposed to teach him (Us), and wanted us to come by this week and start teaching him again! We also put a 9 year old girl that is in a part member family on date for baptism, and she is really excited about getting baptized! Pretty awesome! One of our investigators that came to church (Al) really put a lot on the line to come. His family is super anti, and they threatened to kick him out of the house if he came to church, but he went anyway! That really was an amazing act of faith on his part. But when he went back home, his family was kind to him, and everything worked out way better than he was expecting! What a blessing!

We were able to get permission to go to the opening season game for the Tigers with the other Elders, so that was really cool. But because it was the first game of the season, the standing tickets were like $45 bucks a
piece, and we weren't going to pay that, so we just hung off the fence at one part, and watched almost the whole game that way :) People took like a million pictures of us :) It was funny. The Tigers won too, so that was cool. It was a beautiful day though. The sun was shining enough to give all of us (except for the Hawaiian Elder) a sunburn. Also, because it was the first day of the season, there was some crazy block parties and partying going on. There were drunk people EVERYWHERE! Like people were just falling down they were so full of alcohol. We have the Word of Wisdom for a reason.

So yeah that's about it for this week.
